A MOBILE APP FOR A VR EXPERIENCE
Working together with animation and visual effects company, Sinister Studio, Brave created an immersive virtual reality experience that allows consumers to see all of the features of the C-Class coupe in 360º.
A full 3D model of the C-class coupe was hand-crafted by Sinister Studio to act as the main focal point of the experience. Each feature was animated and added to the 3D environment. A film crew, using a 360º camera, filmed the entire virtual test drive and this was added to the environment.
Brave built the mobile application around the 3D environment, adding interaction and navigation, and optimising the experience for both straight-view and Google Cardboard users.
A Samsung Gear VR version is in the works for later this year.
TOUR THE C-CLASS ON YOUR PHONE
Mercedes Benz South Africa wanted to increase test-drives of the 2016 C-class coupe by taking the showroom to the consumer. A virtual reality app was the perfect solution, as it lets consumers step into a virtual showroom and experience a C-Class coupe in 360º on their desktops, tablets or mobiles.
After a tour of the exterior features, users get into the drivers seat to experience a fully immersive 360º virtual test-drive along scenic Chaplains Peak in Cape Town from within the C-Class coupe cabin.
